We will work tirelessly to help you achieve your financial goals offering high-quality, effective legal representation. With experience handling thousands of bankruptcy cases in Chicago, you can rest easy that your case is in good hands.
Unlike at larger, impersonal law firms, where clients are not given the special attention they deserve, at DebtPros you will never have to deal or speak with a paralegal or staff member. Instead, your attorney will be available to you 24/7. To us, you are not just another case number, but a person in need of help.
In addition to providing personal, compassionate legal representation, our bankruptcy lawyers in Chicago are not afraid to take on even the most complex cases. Recently, John Wonais litigated a bankruptcy case against the City of Chicago all the way up to the Supreme Court of the United States. See City of Chicago v. Fulton, 141 S.Ct. 585 (2021).
The case was about a client who filed a Chapter 13 bankruptcy case because the city of Chicago impounded her vehicle for unpaid parking tickets. Rather than immediately returning the car to her upon filing, like the City previously used to do, they refused, citing a new ordinance they passed to try and pressure debtors into not filing bankruptcy. While other bankruptcy lawyers were ok with this practice, John was not. Instead, he sued the City and won in the bankruptcy court, United States District Court, and 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
